Meet Topstriker and Goldgarments: Masters of Community Building

In a world where music scenes are often centered around major cities like LA, Miami, and New York, Topstriker and Goldgarments dared to challenge the status quo. They refused to accept that fans in smaller, less glamorous cities should be deprived of the same immersive experiences enjoyed by those in more prominent locations. Instead, they set out to create a blueprint for success that fans in any city could follow.

Their story is one of resilience and determination. Faced with the reality that top artists like Burna Boy and others often skipped over cities like Phoenix, due to a perceived lack of demand. Topstriker & GoldGarments could have easily given up. But they saw an opportunity to not only bring great music to their community but also to inspire others in similar cities to do the same. It all started with a shared passion for afrobeat, dancehall, and reggae music. Topstriker and Goldgarments, both avid fans of these genres, realized that there was a void in events surrounding these genres in the Phoenix music scene.

"Our goal was to create an event similar to those that people in Phoenix travel to, like Everyday People or Boiler Room, etc” shared Topstriker. "Why should we have to travel outside of Phoenix when we can bring the scene into our own city? We wanted to create more than just events; we wanted to create moments and build a tapped in community in our own city." - Topstriker

Instead of accepting this as the norm, they decided to take matters into their own hands. They started by hosting gatherings where they could share their love for afrobeat music with like-minded individuals. Their first event had 700 attendees and soon grew into larger sold-out events, drawing crowds of music lovers from all over Phoenix.

Through their innovative approach to community building, Topstriker and Goldgarments have created a community where fans can come together to celebrate their shared love of music. They have shown that with passion, determination, and a commitment to community, anything is possible.

With each sound experience, their community continues to grow.

Now, as they prepare to host their biggest event yet, a Juneteenth pool party featuring a headline performance by Afrobeat artist Sam Ompuku, Topstriker and Goldgarments are poised to continue their mission of bringing people together through music. They are true masters of community building, and their story serves as an inspiration to us all.
